Mi'kmaq Forest Knowledge

The next installment of the 2022 Woodland Conferences is coming up on Thursday, March 9, 2022. The topic of the conference is Mi’kmaq Forest Knowledge and the event will include three presentations:
- Mi’kmaq Forestry Initiative: Netukulimk in Forestry by Troy Robichaud
- Traditional Use on the Land by Sherilyn Young
- Forestry and Archeology by Sherilyn Young and Dr. Heather MacLeod-Leslie
The Woodland Conferences are organized annually by a hardworking committee of representatives from several Nova Scotia groups interested in forestry. This year, the provincial committee includes partners from the Nova Scotia Department of Resources ad Renewables, Nova Scotia Woodlot Owners and Operators Association (Provincial Coordinator), Association for Sustainable Forestry, Mersey Tobeatic Research Institute, Western Woodlot Services Co-op, and two private woodlot owners.
