Land Back and avenues for decolonization

On April 21, 2021, join the Conservation through Reconciliation Partnership (CRP), the David Suzuki Foundation, Ontario Nature and Decolonizing Water for a film screening followed by dialogue and a Q&A. The discussion will explore how to support just and ecologically healthy futures when relationships are redefined and Indigenous sovereignty, rights and responsibilities are respected. Marilyn Baptiste, CRP Leadership Circle, will moderate the session.

In the last few years, the Land Back movement has gained momentum across Turtle Island and Canada. Many struggles for Indigenous reclamation of lands and waters and assertions of Indigenous jurisdiction are being declared under the banner of Land Back.

Explore what Land Back and other avenues for decolonizing our relationships could mean for our collective futures and how we could change our approaches to conservation.
