Posted Oct 23, 2022

Learn the basics of ecological forestry this fall

Have you recently purchased or inherited woodland and want to know more about ecological forest management? Have you owned land for many years but need help taking that first step towards active management? Or do you simply want to learn more about the Wabanaki (Acadian) forest? The Nova Scotia Woodlot Owners and Operators Association (NSWOOA) has a fantastic workshop series just for you.

Starting this September, NSWOOA will be hosting a series of introductory workshops across Nova Scotia on topics including: Ecological Forestry, Biodiversity & Species at Risk, Boundary Lines, Forest Carbon, Mi’kmaq Perspectives on Forest Stewardship, Taxation and Inheritance, and Working with Forest Professionals.

More information about each event and registration links will be posted as details are confirmed. Registration for the first two events—on October 23 and November 12—is currently open. Visit the NSWOOA website to register.

Pre-registration is required for all events.

If you have any questions about the events, please email Christie Verstraten, Program Director, at christie.nswooa@gmail.com.
